Roger D. Griggs, Founder & Chairman

Throughout his pharmaceutical career, Roger has worked closely with cutting-edge scientists, thought leaders and physicians. An investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mr. Griggs continues to identify, license, acquire and develop unique, proprietary products that empower people to take charge of their health and enable them to live healthier, longer lives. Initially working for Lederle Labs (Wyeth), he rose up the management ladder in various roles. In 1988 he left Lederle Labs to join a small startup (Russ) which eventually merged with UCB Pharma. In 1991 he formed Richwood Pharmaceuticals. Over the years, Griggs has developed a unique ability to identify and acquire new products and match them with the unmet market needs for both professionals and consumers. He and his companies have been responsible for introducing remarkably innovative products such as:

Roger is a healthcare entrepreneur. Roger began his career as a high school football coach and social studies teacher after earning his Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State University and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University. In 1982 he left teaching to enter the pharmaceutical industry.

Ed Fanning, Managing Director

Ed is Managing Director of Union Springs, LLC. He is an accomplished business person with a passion for helping others succeed, simplifying complex situations, mitigating risk, and creating value. Ed has over 25 years’ experience advising owners, boards, and CEO’s of privately-held and publicly-traded companies with respect to corporate strategy, operational turnarounds profitability improvement, acquisitions, divestitures, and financing. He has expertise in strategy, finance, business processes, operations, corporate governance, and corporate development.

Ed has held leadership roles with Fortune 500 companies and major financial institutions, including Provident Bank, PaineWebber Incorporated, HarrisBank & Trust, and Sundstrand Corporation, and has been successful when operating in highly entrepreneurial investment banking and private equity boutiques. Prior to joining Union Springs, Ed was Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Duro Bag Manufacturing Company. He has worked with a wide array of manufacturers, wholesale distributors, retailers, and service companies across avariety of industries including healthcare. Ed earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and his BS in Accountancy and Finance from Northern Illinois University. Ed is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.
